Interpreters & Translators
Interpreters & Translators
Casa Cornelia Law Center has an ever-growing need for volunteers who are fluent in two or more languages. Our clients come from many different countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe as well as Central and South America. Language volunteers provide essential skills that enable quality representation for our clients.
Whether you are a trained language professional or someone who wishes to help as a community interpreter, yours will be a very rewarding experience because the language volunteer often holds the key to an individual’s ability to present the best case. The language volunteer can be the touchstone between two worlds. Your willingness to be of service enables the attorneys to accept cases and get the job done.
Volunteer interpreters and translators may find that their service at Casa Cornelia will satisfy school internship requirements or professional certification service requirements. Please discuss with your school internship program director or your certifying entity. Certainly, your resume will be enhanced with the experience you will gain in the VIT program at Casa Cornelia. Those considering a career in the interpretation and/or translation field are strongly encouraged to apply.
